STRIPPED BARE – Behind the Scenes: HANDS

STRIPPED BARE – Behind the Scenes

HANDS, by Jewel, is a song whose lyrics speak to Nick, and was used by him as the text he superimposed over a lithographic print he did of his hands entwined. The chorus, in particular, had meaning for him:

My hands are small, I know

But they’re not yours,

They are my own.

But they’re not yours,

They are my own.

And I am never broken.

Below is a drawing of a pair of hands.

Unfortunately, the drawing about which I wrote, is of my hands, and as I am a woman, they are feminine, and therefore not a good representation of Nick’s hands!
