Lily’s Artworks – Questioning Religion

QUESTIONING RELIGION, was an exploration into spirituality, with an emphasis on Pagan Religion.

Pagan Religion appealed to me as I saw it as having a better balance between men and women.

Christianity is a male diety, it is patriarchal, and women are portrayed as inferior and the seducers to sin.

In Pagan religion, the woman is celebrated as the creator of new life, her fertility revered.

Each piece was made out of paperbark, and hand cut using embroidery scissors (Union, pictured below, is 1.8m or 6ft in diameter)
